BOSSA Nova is huge among Pinoys. Credit goes to Brazilian musical genius Sergio Mendes for making it such.
Once exclusive to Brazilians, Mendes made bossa nova so appealing it became a worldwide phenomenon.
He hit it big with “Brasil 66” with “Mas Que Nada” as single. His popularity never abated since, influencing many other musicians to follow in his wake.
Sergio has worked with the likes of Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am, Justin Timberlake, and John Legend among many others.
He has also extended his expertise into the realm of movies, particularly for the successful animated film “Rio” and its sequel, “Rio 2.”
Now, fans are apt to rejoice with Mendes once again returning to these shores via back-to-back concert “Sergio Mendes: A Valentine’s Day Concert” happening on Feb. 14 and 15, at The Tent at Solaire.
Mendes will be the first international artist that will grace the resort’s newest venue as it draws in and stages grander events.
“We want to continue elevating the Solaire experience through a vast roster of stay, dine and event offers that everyone can enjoy. Valentine’s Day is one occasion that couples, families, or groups of friends treat with specialty. Celebrating that with Sergio Mendes, one of the world’s most recognized musicians, is proof of Solaire’s commitment to give only the best to our clients,” says Lorenzo Manalang, Solaire’s Vice President for Brand and Marketing.
Tickets to “Sergio Mendes: A Valentine’s Day Concert” are now available via TicketWorld.
