Cool weather will still be felt by the public Monday as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to prevail throughout the country, the State weather bureau said Sunday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said that the cool winds brought by the northeast monsoon will continue to blow across the country. Amihan is the cool weather associated with the holiday season.
The northeast monsoon is also expected to bring light rains in most parts of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Menro Mendoza said that the amihan will bring ckoudy skies with light rains over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Aurora, and Quezon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the amihan.
PAGASA expects no tropical cyclones entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next three days.
Due to the surge of the northeast monsoon, the State weather bureau raised a gale warning over the seaboards of Isabela, Aurora, Camarines provinces, Catanduanes, and Northern and Eastern Samar. (Alexandria Dennise San
