A COUPLE will be celebrating the Valentine’s Day behind bars after they were caught selling almost P150,000 worth of marijuana in Sta. Ana, Manila, Sunday afternoon.
Police identified the suspects as Sir Lord Parco alias Boss Parcs, 33, of Matimtiman Street, Tondo; and Bennie Rose Sano, 33, a call center agent with a bachelor’s degree of AB Political Science and resident of Buenavista Executive Homes, Barangay Barandal, Calamba, Laguna.
The couple was arrested during a buy-bust operation at Plaza Calderon, Pedro Gil Street, Barangay 879, Zone 96 in Sta. Ana at about 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.
Aside from them, two more persons identified as Aries Ilagan alias Dong, 25, a second year college student of Universidad de Manila; and Nico Fernando alias Noy, 21, a high school graduate, both residents of Binondo, were apprehended during the operation.
Police seized a total of 8.20 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P144, 500, and the P500 marked money.
The pieces of evidence were turned over to the crime laboratory of Manila Police District (MPD) for examination.
The suspects will be charged for violation of sections 5, 11, and 26 of Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to police. (Ria Fernandez)
