LAUR, Nueva Ecija – President Duterte is seeking the inclusion of Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and other guest candidates in the administration party’s senatorial ticket in the May elections.
Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go said the President has invited Marcos, Sen. Cynthia Villar, Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano, and singer Freddie Aguilar and other preferred bets to attend the administration’ proclamation rally organized by the PDP-Laban party in Bulacan on Thursday.
Go, speaking to reporters on the sideline of the President’s inauguration of a drug treatment facility here, said Duterte wanted these “guest candidates” to join the PDP’s five Senate hopefuls during tomorrow’s campaign kick-off rally.
“Bukas definitely yung limang PDP candidates pupunta. and then he invited Freddie Aguilar to join the launching ng PDP including kasama din rin mga guest candidates ni Pangulong Duterte, like si Senator Pia, yung mga inimbita niya, si Freddie Aguilar, I think is Gov. Imee inimbitahan,” Go said.
Go admitted the proposed addition of Marcos and other guest candidates to the party was still being worked out. He remained confident though that the party would follow the President’s wish to include the candidates outside the ruling party.
