Five suspected members of a gunrunning syndicate were killed in a shootout with police during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City Tuesday. One of the suspects was identified by the Quezon City Police District as Michael Desuyo, about 45- to 50-years-old. The four others remain unidentified. QCPD director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr. said that members of the District Special Operations Unit received information regarding the group’s involvement in gunrunning activities. A policeman posed as a poseur-buyer during the operation at around 5:10 p.m. on De Vega Compound, Dahlia corner Iris Streets. However, during the transaction, the suspects sensed that they were dealing with an undercover cop. The suspects opened fire at the policemen, hitting one of them on the left shoulder.
