A businessman, who was abducted on Thursday, was found dead inside his sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Barangay 175, Caloocan City, Saturday morning.
Senior Supt. Restituto Arcangel, Caloocan City Police chief, identified the victim as Camar Tampla, 49, businessman.
On Thursday noon, the victim, accompanied by his wife Esnaira Tampla, had his car fixed on Quirino Highway.
Esnaira was checking the car from the outside when three unidentified men entered the car and sped away with Camar still inside.
Esnaira reported the abduction to the police on Thursday afternoon.
Through continuous monitoring of close circuit television footage (CCTV), the police found on Saturday the victim’s body inside his SUV parked on Camaro Street corner Holden Street in Brixton Ville, Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City.
Cursory investigation showed the victim died of suffocation, according to Chief Inspector Joe Mar Ronquillo, Caloocan City Police Station investigation unit chief.
The motive behind the killing is yet to be established as the victim did not have any enemy and his belongings were all intact, Arcangel said.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing for possible identification and arrest of the assailants. (Minka Tiangco)
