An American wanted in his home country for distributing child pornography was arrested on Friday by the Bureau of Immigration, the Department of Justice said yesterday.
DoJ spokesman Undersecretary Markk Perete identified the fugitive American as Gary James Dukolil.
Perete said Dukolil, who is also an undocumented alien, was arrested at 4 p.m. at Clark Residences in Pampanga.
The DoJ spokesman said Dukolil was arrested by the BI Fugitive Sections Unit upon the request of the United States government.
“The arrest was made pursuant to an official request from the Diplomatic Security Service-Overseas Criminal Investigations, US Embassy in Manila,” Perete said.
“The fugitive has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by the Minnesota District Court on 17 Jan 2019 for distribution of child pornography,” he added.
The American was brought to the BI main office in Manila for documentation.
Perete said that Dukolil, who will eventually be deported back to the US, will be detained for the meantime at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City. (Jeffrey Damicog)
