A British man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly shoplifting two flat screen television sets in Makati City.
Chief Inspector Gideon Ines, Makati police’s assistant chief of police for operations, identified the suspect as Michael Byres, 32, currently residing in Barangay Olympia, Makati.
Byres, according to investigators, was apprehended by a security guard of a supermarket inside Jazz mall in Barangay Bel-Air at 9:50 p.m.
Before leaving the establishment, the suspect was asked by the guard if he has a receipt for the flat screen television sets he was carrying, but he failed to do so. This prompted the guard to turn him over to the cops, Ines said.
Seized from him were two sets of 12-inch flat screen television.
He is currently detained at the Makati Police headquarters. (Jel Santos)
