10 a.m. – Adamson vs UE (men’s)
2 p.m. – NU vs La Salle (women’s)
4 p.m. – Adamson vs UE (women’s)
La Salle aims to keep its record clean while Adamson and University of the East (UE) go for their first wins today in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Spikers gun for win No. 3 in their 2 p.m. duel with the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs while the Lady Falcons and the Lady Warriors collide at 4 p.m.
La Salle remains a force to reckon with especially against Adamson, which it beat in straight sets last week, 25-16, 25-21, 25-20.
While focus is always on Desiree Cheng to lift the Taft-based squad, rookie Jolina Dela Cruz is slowly making an impression after another promising performance where she finished with 10 points against Adamson.
La Salle’s cohesion and deep lineup are its greatest assets, something that a young squad like NU needs to overcome to improve its 1-1 win-loss record.
NU is expected to ride the momentum of its 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 win over UE last Saturday with Ivy Lacsina and Roselyn Doria slated to step up once again.
Meanwhile, Adamson and UE chase their respective first wins after skidding into the bottom standings with identical 0-2 marks.
Though currently the leading receiving team with libero Tonnie Rose Ponce taking charge of their floor defense, Adamson needs to double its offensive effort aside from minimizing errors.
