The country might lose investors if the Abu Sayyaf Group would not stop its atrocities, President Duterte warned last Sunday.
The President acknowledged the adverse impact of the ASG threat on the country’s investor confidence but ruled out holding any dialogue with the lawless group.
“Dito sa Abu Sayyaf, hindi talaga tayo magkaintindihan. I cannot for the life of me imagine me talking to them after all what they have done. Decapitating everyone. My soldiers were Moro. Wala, walang pili-pili ‘yan. They have no ideology except to kill and destroy,” Duterte said during the PDP-Laban campaign rally in Zamboanga City.
“Pag hindi ito nawala sila dito, everybody who wants to invest in the Philippines will never do that so we cannot be productive,” he added.
The President recently ordered the military to destroy the ASG following its suspected involvement in the two deadly explosions in Jolo, Sulu last January.
The church blasts, carried out by two suspected Indonesian suicide bombers aided by the ASG, claimed 21 lives and injured dozens of people. Duterte, outraged by the terror attacks, even directed the troops use their resources to finish off the group behind the Jolo bombings. (Genalyn Kabiling)
