The Philippine Sports Commission yesterday opened its Nutrition Hall at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
PSC senior executive assistant Marc Velasco said the Hall is expected to serve around 500 athletes with breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon snacks provided.
The canteen is open from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. from Mondays to Saturdays.
“There were a lot of challenges along the way but this is a promise that PSC chairman William Ramirez made and made sure to keep,” said Velasco, also the concurrent National Training Director of the Philippine Sports Institute.
The PSC Nutrition United headed by Jane Serapion also conducted biometrics registration and nutrition assessment on athletes and coaches in the national pool where specific diet based on their requirements were assessed.
Coach Chris Yabut of Philippine Pencak Silat Association commended the development saying “this is good for the players specially after the training. Susunod lang kami kung anong makakabuti”.
