SAN FRANCISCO – Unbeaten US fighter Errol Spence is supremely confident of beating Manny Pacquiao that he has boasted of handing the Filipino great “his retirement check.”
Spence was so moved by his masterful win over the blown-up Mikey Garcia that he feels Pacquiao will be forced to announce his exit from boxing the moment he faces him.
Spence taunted Pacquiao in Dallas over the weekend by asking him to stand beside him and commit on meeting him.
Pacquiao, 40, said he doesn’t see any reason why he will back away from challenging Spence, the reigning International Boxing Federation 147-lb champion.
Pacquiao, holder of the World Boxing Association crown, is likewise looking forward to a collision course with the 29-year-old puncher.
“We’ll talk with Al Haymon and we’ll see what happens,” said Pacquiao, who beat up Adrien Broner last January in Las Vegas.
