The low-pressure area, formerly tropical depression “Chedeng,” may still bring light to moderate rains that will gradually decrease while on its way towards the West Philippine Sea.
Before noon yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration estimated the location of the LPA at 305 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City.
Scattered light to moderate rains will prevail over Palawan, Zamboanga City, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
PAGASA said the LPA will likely be outside the country’s area of responsibility today.
Meanwhile, the warm and humid easterly winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean will prevail over the rest of the country.
Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised residents in Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao to be alert for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The easterlies will bring fair weather with only partly cloudy skies over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
