PAGADIAN CITY – A worker was killed while two others were injured when an ammonia tank exploded in this city the other day.
Philippine National Police Regional Office 9 director Police Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup said the incident happened inside the Ramona Fishing Corp. at about 6:10 p.m.
Licup identified the fatality as Jelmar Montesa Bulay, 19, of Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur. Bulay’s co-workers rushed him to Aisah Hospital in Barangay San Pedro in this city where he was declared dead.
Injured and taken to the same hospital were Brinton Wasawas, 29, single, machine operator, from Cebu City, and Alberto Singedas, 60, married, of Tuburan, this city.
Wasawas, a stay-in employee of Ramona Fishing Corp., sustained minor injuries.
Licup said the Pagadian police are now coordinating with the the Bureau of Fire Protection in the conduct of the investigation. (Nonoy E. Lacson)
