An alleged gang leader was arrested by the police in Quezon, Isabela the other day.
Police Capt. Frances Littaua, information officer of the Isabela police, identified the suspect as Vicente Casiw, 63, married, and resident of Quezon, Isabela.
Casiw was arrested through a search warrant issued by Judge Precious Lovely Olivia A. Sales-Jao of the 12th Municipal Circuit Trial Court Mallig-Quezon, Isabela for violations of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
The search warrant was implemented in the presence of barangay officials.
Seized from the suspect were one hand grenade, one caliber .22 (converted), and one shotgun ammunition.
Casiw was tagged as the leader of Casiw Group, a newly identified gang allegedly involved in gunrunning and land grabbing activities in Isabela. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
