A 45-year-old man was arrested by police after he was accused of molesting his eight-year-old stepdaughter in Tondo, Manila.
Elements of Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 1 nabbed the suspect along Aroma Street at 4 p.m. on March 22, police said.
According to the victim’s mother, she recently discovered that her live-in partner had been molesting her daughter in their home each time she would leave her in the care of the suspect to work as a vendor.
The incident took place twice a week for more almost one year, the victim told her mother.
Upon learning of her child’s ordeal, the mother accompanied the victim to Manila Police District Station 1 where she lodged a complaint. The child was brought to a hospital for a medical examination.
The suspect was charged with violation of Republic Act 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law and Republic Act 7610, police said. (Erma Edera)
