The Philippine National Police has ordered a thorough investigation on the chief and some policemen of the Koronadal City police station who were caught in a video playing cards and drinking inside their headquarters.
PNP spokesman Police Col. Bernard Banac said among the focus of the investigation is to determine why the chief of police allowed his men to drink and play cards inside their police station.
“The chief PNP Police Gen. Oscar Albayalde has been implementing aggressive internal cleansing. If they are found to have violated some rules and regulations on what they did, they will surely be slapped with administrative sanctions,” said Banac.
A video clip of the Brigada News FM in Koronadal showed a group of alleged policemen drinking and playing cards reportedly inside the Koronadal police station.
At least seven policemen were seen drinking and playing cards.
Most of them are in civilian clothes. The video reportedly includes the chief of police of Koronadal.
Banac said the PNP Regional Office 12 has initiated an investigation after the incident was reported in the local radio station. (Aaron Recuenco)
