To prevent the country from becoming a failed state, President Duterte has no plans to relax and offer any apology or excuse over his unrelenting war on drugs.
The President has renewed his vow to finish off those who destroy the nation, citing the “rampaging drug problem” due to the involvement of foreign drug cartels.
“Pumasok na ang Mexico pati ang Triad – Bamboo Triad ng Asya. Kaya bugbog tayo. Ngayon kung mag-relax ako, patay ang Pilipino. Tinatakot naman ako ng human rights na pinapatay ko ‘yung ano…I don’t give a sh*t,” Duterte said during the PDP-Laban campaign event in Palawan last Thursday night.
“Basta sabihin ko sa lahat, mga kriminal, durugista, rebelde, do not destroy my country because I will kill you, period. No excuses, no apologies, no nothing. If you continue feeding drugs to our children, p***** i** mo papatayin talaga kita, l**** ka,” he said.
The President explained that he was pursuing the anti-drug campaign out of love for the country. “I love my country. I will not allow it as a failed state or a narco state,” he said in an earlier speech before an assembly of prosecutors in Palawan.
He also took a swipe at critics who have sneered at the government’s anti-drug campaign amid the proliferation of the illicit substance. He told them that illegal drugs remain a worldwide problem.
“Some say are we succeeding? Because if you are succeeding – if we are succeeding, wala na ang droga. That’s too simplistic,” he said.
“Drug is a world issue. Lahat tinatamaan na ngayon. Even Sri Lanka, gusto niyang sundin ang Pilipinas, patayin,” he said.
In the same meeting with the prosecutors, the President seized the chance to defend his rhetoric on killing drug dealers, saying he can say anything he wants.
He also explained that his kill threat would hopefully deter people from getting involved in illegal drugs. (Genalyn Kabiling)
