ILOILO CITY – Police on Friday confiscated more than P9.6-million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit under the Police Regional Office led the operation that resulted into the arrest of couple Sidney Gabata Hulleza and Betty Medez Bongay.
Confiscated from them were 275 sachets of suspected shabu that weigh 1.38 kilos and P35,000 in marked money.
Police Capt. Marc Dado, RDEU-6 chief, considered the duo as high-value target drug personalities despite being newly-identified drug players in Bacolod.
Hulleza and Bongay will be facing cases of violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The buy-bust in Bacolod City came more than two days after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency dismantled a major drug den in Negros Occidental. PDEA agents and cops in San Carlos City busted the drug den of Jose Owen Marabe Palabrica. (Tara Yap)
