CEBU CITY – More than P8-million worth of marijuana plants and suspected shabu were seized in separate police operations in Danao City, Cebu.
Last Thursday, operatives of city’s Drug Enforcement Unit discovered a marijuana plantation in Langosig, a mountain barangay. A total of 9,800 marijuana plants amounting to P3.2 million were uprooted.
Police said four men, who were suspected to be the cultivators of the marijuana plants eluded arrest. They were identified as Bienbenido Cal Sr., Bienbindo Cal Jr., Richard Cal, and Crisleo Pogoy Mata.
In Barangay Guinacot, a 37-year-old man was arrested after selling packs of suspected shabu last Friday. Police said Noel Capuyan sold packs of suspected shabu worth P50,000 to a poseur-buyer.
Thirteen packs of suspected shabu worth P4,450,000 were seized from the suspect, police said. (Calvin D. Cordova)
