LILIW, Laguna – Five pedestrians were hurt while three motorcycles and a commercial store were damaged after a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) lost its brakes in Barangay Rizal, Liliw Sunday evening.
The police report identified the injured as Zymour Perez, 14, student, and resident of Brgy. Ibabang San Roque; Sharon Perez, 38, widow, a resident of Brgy. Ibabang San Roque, Liliw, Laguna; Jasmine Orbeta, 17, student; resident of Brgy. Maslun, Liliw, and Kim Grace Manzanero, 24, single, a resident of Brgy. Bagong-Anyo, and Roland Borgonia, 49, jobless resident of Brgy. Kanluran Bukal, all of this town.
While motorcycles were a Yamaha Mio, driven by Carlo Grutas, 29; Rusi125 and driven by Elison Borgoños, 31, and another Rusi125 by Jeybin Zulaybar, 29, also all residents here. Also damaged was a stall of a popular chicken chain store.
The SUV driver was identified by Ernesto Agapay, 59, married, retired OFW, resident of Barangay Pook, Rizal, Laguna.
The accident took place around 7:30 p.m. The SUV first bumped the motorcycles before hitting the pedestrians who were brought to Nagcarlan Hospital. (Danny Estacio)
