A woman dubbed as the “drug queen” of Navotas City, a former barangay tanod and two other drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Navotas City, Sunday night.
Col. Rolando Balasabas, Navotas City police chief, identified the suspects as Rosario Enriquez, alias Rusing, 51, Navotas City’s “drug queen;” and Dennis Alvarez, alias Dinay, 48, former barangay tanod and included in the police’s drug watchlist; both residents of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), Navotas City.
Also arrested were John Clemente, alias PJ, 33, of Daang-hari, Navotas City; and Zhaidell Zindy Almadovar, 23, of Barangay Longos, Malabon City.
Joint elements of the Navotas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the anti-illegal drugs operations.
Investigation showed that Clemente and Almadovar were arrested after the former sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P400 to a poseur-buyer in Daang-hari, Navotas City, at about 6:05 p.m.
Two sachets of suspected shabu and the marked money were recovered from Clemente while another sachet of suspected shabu was retrieved from Almadovar.
At about 6:20 p.m., Enriquez and Alvarez were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer in Barangay NBBS, Navotas City.
Eleven sachets of suspected shabu and a .38-caliber revolver loaded with six live ammunition were recovered fron Alvarez.
Enriquez yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, P1,230 in cash, and P500 marked money.
The retrieved pieces of evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police-Crime Laboratory Office (PNP-CLO) at Camp Crame in Quezon City for forensic examination.
The arrested suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Enriquez and Alvarez will also be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Batas Pambansa Bilang 881 of the Omnibus Election Code. (Minka Tiangco)
