Nearly P2-million worth of suspected shabu and marijuana were seized from a college student and his friend during a buy-bust operation in Makati City Friday.
Police Col. Rogelio Simon, Makati police chief, identified the suspects as 21-year-old college student Melvin Bulado and 22-year-old Jerome Arman Revidad, a merchandiser.
The drug sting was conducted on M. Reyes corner Belarmino Sts. in Barangay Bangkal at around 4 p.m.
The suspects, Simon said, tried to run away after learning that it was a buy-bust operation. “We caught them after a short chase.”
However, their cohort, Edgardo Fontanilla, was able to flee. He is now being hunted by cops.
“It was a busy street. Fontanilla mixed with the crowd. That was how he was able to get away. We are currently hunting him,” Simon said.
Seized from Bulado and Revidad were 119 plastic sachets containing shabu, three of which are medium-sized and are for repacking; a plastic sachet of marijuana; a glass tube; a loaded caliber .40 Taurus; and a caliber .45 magazine.
Simon said they were able to identify Bulado after drug personalities they arrested recently named him as their source of illegal drugs.
Bulado told Simon that they were to deliver the illegal drugs in Taguig City and only stopped by in Makati to sell some of it to their patrons.
Bulado also revealed that they get their supply of illegal drugs from Cavite.
“He confessed that they are getting illegal drugs from Cavite, and the drugs we seized are supposed to be delivered in Taguig City. He said they just made a short stop in Makati to sell some of their supply,” Simon said. (Jel Santos)
