Campus writers from all over the country will receive training on sports journalism as the Philippine Sports Commission launches its ‘Sports Journalism for the Youth’ seminar at the Davao Christian High School in Davao City on April 24 to 26 in time for the 2019 Palarong Pambansa.
About 200 student journalists will participate in the three-day workshop that will focus on sports journalism fundamentals, responsible sharing of information and social media ethics.
PSC Chairman William Ramirez, PSC Commissioners Celia Kiram and Charles Maxey and Department of Education Undersecretary Revsee Escobedo will grace the opening ceremonies on April 24.
Veteran journalist and Sun Star Davao editor Marianne Saberon-Abalayan will conduct a lecture on sports news writing, Ripples Daily Editor Randy Caluag and respected journalism professors Ed Fernandez and Dr. Gemima Valderrama will each give their respective lectures as well.
