CEBU CITY – The mother of Christine Lee Silawan is insisting that her daughter’s ex-boyfriend be included in the murder case that the police will file against a 43-year-old man who admitted to be behind the gruesome killing.
The Lapu-Lapu City Police Office plans to file murder charges against Renato Llenes today but Christine’s mother Lourdes refused to sign the affidavit of complaint since she wanted to include her daughter’s former boyfriend in the charge sheet.
Llenes and the teenage boy are both suspects in the killing of Christine, whose body was found in a vacant lot in Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City.
The teenage suspect, who was arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Central Visayas, denied involvement in the crime.
Llenes, on the other hand, has admitted killing Christine last March 10 – the first time that they met after months of communicating through social media and text messages.
Police Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, director of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, said the filing of charges against
Llenes will push through with Lourdes’ estranged husband Mario acting as the complainant since he is convinced that Llenes is the killer. (Calvin D. Cordova)
