HAVE you realized that in spite of the imperfect life and the challenges that you face, someone out there would be more than willing to trade places with you? You are blessed – talented, skillful, and able. There are blessings and favors that flow – but the complexities of life have a tendency to make you notice only what is not pleasant and what is not there. Change your perspective by counting your blessings everyday. Develop an attitude of gratitude.
You opened two important gifts today, your eyes. Many people are blind or partially blind. Do you depend on a breathing apparatus to sustain life? Do you have a serious illness?
Do you have electricity and running water? How about a house? Is there food on the table? As some of us complain about the taste of our food, countless people are dying of hunger. What else do we take for granted?
Appreciate the people who care about you, those who are loyal to you. Some individuals are lonely not because they are truly alone, but because they focus on the ones who betrayed them, used them, abused their kindness, and abandoned them. The ones who stood by you and continue to make their presence felt – don’t they deserve more of your time and attention?
How about the illnesses, difficulties, failures, pressures, heartaches, criticisms, and accidents that you survived? You hurdled them. You managed to flourish in spite of it all.
Remember all the good things in your life when you are sad, disappointed, and tempted to complain. Develop an attitude of gratitude to honor the Giver and to attract more blessings. Let them flow!
