IMUS, Cavite – Two drug suspects died while two others were arrested in separate encounters with police in the province, the Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported Thursday.
The two incidents brought to 20 the number of suspects killed in gunfights with police in the last four months.
The latest shootout killed Mama Bitangol Pagedoten, alias “Yuyong,” in Springville, Barangay Molino III at 1 a.m. Thursday.
Two drug suspects namely Alladin Omar Salik and Aladin Mantulino Salic were also arrested in the buy-bust operation.
The Bacoor police reported that Pagedoten died on the spot in the exchange of gunfire with anti-drug officers just beside a maroon Honda CRV car (XIJ 691), the suspects’ vehicle.
Recovered from Pagedoten was a 38 cal. revolver and at the SUV were 250 grams of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,700,000 and P200,000 boodle money.
Pagedoten shot it out with the police shortly after they nabbed Salik and Salic who earlier transacted with a poseur officer on board a motorcycle.
Lt. Col. Vicente S. Cabatingan, Bacoor police chief, said that Salik was in his drug watch list. He tagged the suspect as a big-time drug pusher operating in the district. (Anthony Giron)
