MANY of us came to the advance screening of “Sino Ang May Sala? Mea Culpa” on Monday eager to see lead stars Jodi Sta. Maria and Bela Padilla engage each other acting-wise.
We quickly forgot about it.
Seeing their little-known co-star Ivana Alawi strut her stuff in a delicate scene with co-star Kit Thompson early on grabbed too much of our attention we were still thinking about it even after a 6.1 magnitude tremor rocked much of Luzon around the same time.
Indeed, the pretty young nymphet proved quite the scene-stealer showing, a hem, ample promise without doing much of anything.
Who exactly is Ivana and how come we just heard of her now?
A quick search revealed the Moroccan-Filipina actually started her showbiz career in 2015 as Mariam Al-Alawi via the GMA7 talent show “Starstruck.”
We don’t know exactly what happened after that but she was soon with ABS-CBN appearing in “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi” followed by “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.”
“Sino Ang May Sala? Mea Culpa,” which starts airing April 29, is actually her biggest break.
