INTERNET, film and television personality Kris Aquino hinted she may or may not pursue a career in politics in the future saying it all depends on the state of her health.
In October 2018, Kris was diagnosed with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU), which, according to novartis.co.uk “is a serious, chronic and distressing skin condition that is difficult to diagnose and manage.”
“What I have is not curable. I have accepted that. It has no cure. You have to deal with all the symptoms and you can deal with everything that goes with it,” said Kris, during a press conference, where she announced her support for Sen. Bam Aquino as accompanied by the latter’s wife, Timi Aquino.
Kris added: “You cannot control it but it will be forever be there.”
The daughter of former President Cory Aquino pointed out how public servants should be healthy.
“How can you serve the people if you are not sure of your health? Parang bumili ka lang niyan ng TV or cellphone na may one-year warranty. Eh, hindi ko kayo ma-a-assure ng warranty so, nakakahiya di ba? So gusto ko munang i-assure kayo na maganda ang kalusugan ko bago ako mag-serve,” Kris maintained.
She even joked she may not fit the job being a compulsive shopper: “Magastos pa rin po ako eh. Kasi hindi ibig sabihin pag pinaghirapan po, dapat kang gumastos. Mahirap na bansa ang Pilipinas so dapat gagastos ka ng ayon sa lipunan.”
Asked if she plans to return to TV work soon, the 48-year-old sister of former Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III said: “Ayaw na nila sa akin eh.”
Not that she is aching for it noting, “TV is so stressful.” (ROBERT R. REQUINTINA)
