Swimmer Lora Micah Amogius and runner John Lloyd Cabalo clinched their gold medals yesterday in the 2019 Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia.
A pride of Davao City, Amogius, who earlier won the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley, teamed up with Erika Lois Suelan, Zoemarie Hilario, and Krisha Joanna Apin in the 400-meter medley relay.
It was a fitting follow-up to swimming’s five-gold haul on Sunday.
Cabalo, on the other hand, partnered with Joviane Calixto, Romel Bautista and Reymark Godoy in ruling the 4×400-meter relay in the 13-14 years old category in three minutes, 29.11 seconds, beating the other PH team composed of Al-Nhaquiev Sappari, Nicko Caparoso, Jason Buenacosa and Norman Carl Luardo (3:32.12).
Cabalo, 18, also reigned supreme in the 400m and was a part of the 400m and was part of the team that won the 4x100m relay gold.
The quartet of Jessel Lumapas, Ara Delotavo, May Therese Guia and Abegail Manzano also topped the 4x400m relay.
