La Salle and University of Santo Tomas dispute the second and last twice-to-beat semifinal incentive today in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is at 3:30 p.m. with the winning squad getting the needed advantage in their Final Four hostilities.
Both teams finished the double-round robin eliminations tied at second with 10-4 cards following La Salle’s stunning loss to semis fourth seed Far Eastern University, 25-22, 13-25, 15-25, 27-25, 15-8, and UST’s victory over National University, 27-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-16, over the weekend.
Whatever the outcome, the Lady Spikers and the Tigresses will still see each other in the next phase due to the crossover semis format of No. 1 vs No. 4 and No. 2 vs No. 3.
Ateneo and FEU cash in the other semis pairing with the Lady Eagles enjoying a twice-to-beat privilege being the No. 1 team.
La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus expects his stalwarts to regain their composure after that loss to FEU particularly Desiree Cheng.
The veteran top spiker was limited to only two points and one set as she recuperates from vaccinations after getting scratched by a stray cat at their dorm.
