The net satisfaction rating of the Duterte administration reached a new record-high of “excellent” +72 in the first quarter of 2019 Social Weather Stations survey.
In the nationwide survey conducted from March 28 to 31 among 1,440 respondents, 81 percent were satisfied, 10 percent were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, and nine percent were dissatisfied with the general performance of the current administration.
This translates to a new record-high net satisfaction rating of +72 (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied), classified by SWS as excellent.
It is six points above the “very good” +66 (76 percent satisfied, nine percent dissatisfied) in December 2018, and two points above the previous record of excellent +70 in December 2017.
The SWS attributed the five-point increase in the national administration’s overall net satisfaction rating to increases in all areas.
It rose from very good to excellent in Visayas, from +63 in December 2018 to +74 in March 2019; stayed excellent in Mindanao from +75 to +81; remained “very good” in the rest of Luzon from +65 to +68; and also stayed very good in Metro Manila, from +60 to +65.
Rural net satisfaction with the administration rose from very good to excellent, from +65 in December 2018 to +72 in March, as urban net satisfaction also rose from very good to excellent, from +68 to +71.
Net satisfaction with the administration rose from very good to excellent in Class D or the “masa,” from +65 in December 2018 to +72 in March. It stayed excellent in upper-to-middle Class ABC, hardly moving from +72 to +73.
However, it declined from excellent to very good in the poorest Class E, from +70 to +68.
By sex, it rose from very good to excellent among men, from +69 to +73; and among women, from +64 to +71.
By age group, it rose from very good to excellent among 18 to 24-year-olds, from +64 to +80; among 35 to 44-year- olds, from +67 to +75; and among 45 to 54-year-olds, from +68 to +75. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
