The Philippine National Police (PNP) said a manhunt has been launched against the man claiming to be “Bikoy,” the mysterious figure behind “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos which linked President Duterte’s kin and close allies to the illegal drugs trade.
Police General Oscar Albayalde, PNP Chief, said that they have already secured a copy of two warrants of arrest against Peter Joemel Advincula and his supposed cohorts for estafa and large-scale illegal recruitment.
Advincula has a standing warrant of arrest for estafa issued by Judge Leody M. Opolinto of La Trinidad, Benguet Municipal Trial Court, on Sept. 26, 2007, and for large-scale illegal recruitment issued by Baguio City RTC Third Branch on Aug. 10, 2007.
“[A] manhunt operation is underway to find him and to serve the pending warrants of arrest against Advincula and his cohorts,” Albayalde said.
According to Albayalde, an arresting team has already been mobilized to go after Advincula, who used to change his identities to deceive people.
“It appears that Advincula has been using different names to hide his real identity such as R.B. Santos, John Paul Rafael Benedict Santos, Arcangel de Leon or Archie Santos, Lory Camba, and Jaime Gaupo Jr.,” Albayalde said.
“In March 2007, the accused committed illegal recruitment and asked for training fee amounting to P300 in exchange of employment at Colegio Del La Pontifical Academia in Baguio City,” he revealed. It turned out that the offer was bogus and the victims were fooled by Advincula.
Police Colonel Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, urged the public to report to police any lead that could help in the ongoing manhunt operation against Advincula.
“We urge the public to report to authorities any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect,” he said.
Advincula grabbed headlines last Monday after he revealed himself to the public in a surprise conference at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) building in Pasig City.
Advincula claimed that he is Bikoy, the man behind “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos. It is a five-part series uploaded on the social media which showed alleged proof of the Duterte family and allies’ connection to the illegal drugs trade. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
