Richard “Notorious” Corminal is not stopping until he achieves his ultimate goal.
Corminal has spent years dealing with losses and heartbreaks to the point that he has managed to stop thinking about results.
For now, he is focused on one thing — becoming a better athlete.
“Those losses are a part of the life of being a martial artist. We cannot all be winners,” said the veteran, who is currently 0-3 in ONE Championship.
“I know that my first win here in ONE Championship has been elusive, but it only pushes me even further to improve.”
The 37-year-old will get one more shot at redemption on Friday, 17 May, and it’s something he does not plan to waste.
He will take on Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju in the opening bout of ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON, which takes place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
After spending nearly a year reviewing his previous outings and finding solutions to his holes, Corminal is confident of a better showing in “The Lion City.”
The Malaysia-based Filipino says that he is absolutely ready to tear the house down and produce a good performance for the fans who have always been supportive of him.
“I am ready for this match. Now, I’m just monitoring my weight, but I am 100 percent ready,” he said. “I’m really excited for Friday. I’m excited with how I’ll show up and perform.”
Corminal knows he has a tough battle ahead of him, as “The Kerala Krusher” is both determined and hungry to register his first victory in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
Raju has also dropped three consecutive matches in ONE, and the Filipino knows that the Indian powerhouse will do everything in his power to score a breakthrough.
“Like me, he’s hungry for a victory. That being said, I know our fight this Friday will be intense,” Corminal shared.
“I’ll stick to our game plan. All the things that I’ve worked hard for during the past year will be on display this Friday. I don’t have a prediction for this fight, but I promise the best Richard Corminal this Friday.”
