Reelectionist Sen. Cynthia A. Villar remains No. 1 in the partial and official count in the senatorial race of the Commission on Elections sitting as the National Board of Canvassers.
Villar has 24,757,642 votes as of 7:18 p.m. Sunday, followed by another reelectionist Sen. Grace Poe who has 21,563,558.
They are followed by former presidential assistant Bong Go with 20,223,738; Taguig-Pateros Rep. Pia Cayetano with 19,390,096; former Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa with 18,639,583;
Sen. Sonny Angara, 17,786,740; former Sen. Lito Lapid, 16,587,742; Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, 15,362,702; former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, 15,196,397; Sen. Koko Pimentel, 14,395,957 votes; former Sen. Bong Revilla, 14, 279, 625; and Sen. Nancy Binay, 14, 065,071.
Still occupying 13th place is Sen. JV Ejercito with 13,983,153 followed by Sen. Bam Aquino with 13,895,154 and JV’s half-brother former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada with 11,085,896.
In the party-list race, ACT-CIS still leads with 2,569,702 votes. Rounding up the Top 5 are Bayan Muna, 1,102,167; Ako Bicol, 1,045,670; Cibac, 915,840, and Ang Probinsyano, 761,677.
Comelec Education and Information Department Assistant Director Frances Arabe said 162 out of 167 or 97 percent of the Certificates of Canvass have been canvassed.
The poll body is still awaiting the CoCs from Isabela, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United States, and Nigeria which have a total of 1,683,938 votes. (Leslie Aquino)
