Two alleged drug personalities were killed in a shootout with police in Navotas City, Sunday night.
P/Col. Rolando Balasabas, Navotas City police chief, said that a certain Jeff and Vincent were walking along an alley in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) at around 10:30 p.m. when anti-illegal drugs operatives saw them holding a sachet of suspected shabu.
Balasabas said the operatives, who were conducting surveillance in the area, were about to accost the suspects when Vincent reportedly pulled out his gun and fired shots at them. This prompted the police to fire back, killing him instantly.
Meantime, Jeff then ran to his house where he took his gun and fired shots at the police. He was also killed when the cops retaliated.
Police seized from the duo a cellophane containing suspected shabu, two sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Also recovered from them were a .45-caliber Colt pistol, a replica of .45-caliberĀ Colt, a .38-caliber gun, and five spent shells.
The slain suspects were brought to Eusebio Funeral Homes for autopsy.
Balasabas said they have yet to establish the identities of the slain suspects. (Joseph Almer Pedrajas)
