Che’Lu Bar & Grill looks to end its elimination round campaign still in contention for a quarterfinals berth against FamilyMart-Enderun in the PBA D-League at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
The Revellers need a victory in the 4 p.m. match with FamilyMart to further complicate the race for the remaining three quarterfinal slots in the Aspirants Group.
Coach Stevenson Tiu’s squad is locked in a three-way share of fourth to sixth places at 5-3 while trailing second-running Ironcon-University of Santo Tomas (6-2) and Petron-Letran (6-3).
The top four teams in the group advance to the crossover quarters. Only Cignal-Ateneo remains as the only team that secured a playoff spot after going 8-1 in the elims.
Former University of the Visayas and incoming University of the East cager Rey Suerte, who is averaging 14.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.1 blocks leads Che’Lu’s quest to score another win.
Also expected to step up for the Revellers are Jhaps Bautista (13.5 points), Gab Dagangon (11.0 points), Jesse Collado (10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds) and Jeff Viernes (9.0 points and 2.8 assists).
FamilyMart-Enderun, already out of the race with a 1-6 record, tries to play the spoiler role behind Valandre Chauca, who is averaging 20.0 points this season.
SMDC-National University (3-5) and University of Perpetual Help (2-6) look to end their respective campaigns on a high note in their match set at 2 p.m. (Jonas Terrado)
