BACOLOD CITY – A four-year old girl died after a goal post fell on her at a football field in Silay City, Negros Occidental Monday.
Police Maj. Rollie Pondevilla, city police chief, said they received a report about the victim’s death a day after the incident happened.
Pondevilla said the victim and some other children were picking flowers at the field for Flores De Mayo, when they decided to play.
The victim was reportedly lying down near the goal post while some of her playmates allegedly shook the post which caused it to fall on the child.
“The post was probably situated on the elevated part of the field, that’s why it fell on her,” Pondevilla said.
The child was hit on her chest and was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead due to internal hemorrhage. (Glazyl Masculino)
