Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar is focused on performing his job for now despite rumors he will be transferred to another government post.
Andanar said he has yet to receive President Duterte’s order about his rumored appointment as the next presidential adviser for political affairs.
“The President has not talked to me about it. I will wait for the President’s order,” he said in a text message. “In the meantime, regular work as usual,” he added.
Andanar was reacting to rumors that he might soon take the place of former presidential political adviser senator-elect Francis Tolentino.
The President is supposedly eyeing broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo to take the helm of the Malacañang communications office.
Andanar and Tulfo were former colleagues at TV5 network.
Amid the planned revival of the Office of the Press Secretary back in October 2018, Andanar said he was willing to accept the political adviser post if offered by the President.
The former TV5 journalist, who pushed for the upgrade of equipment and facilities of the government’s communication and information system in the past three years, said he believes he can perform the job of bring the link between the Executive branch and the politicians across the country.
