A frontal system, which is the boundary between cold and warm air, will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers over most parts of Luzon today.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the frontal system over Northern Luzon will bring scattered rains over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that rains, especially during severe thunderstorms, could trigger flash floods or landslides over low-lying and mountainous areas in the entire archipelago.
Despite the rains, PAGASA has not yet declared the onset of rainy season associated with the persistence of the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
Earlier, the weather bureau said it does not see the start of rainy season this year to be delayed.
The normal onset of rainy season is between the second half of May and first half of June. Rainy season last year officially began on June 8. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
