Anti-narcotics agents of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have arrested a 65-year-old alleged drug pusher when he yielded some P10 million worth of shabu in Pateros.
Nabbed was Angelo Reyes who is popularly known in his neighborhood as Litong Pangit.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the operation that resulted in the arrest of Reyes stemmed from intelligence reports of his involvement in drug-peddling activities.
Reyes was collared at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday on P. Rosales Street at Alley 2, Unit 12 in Pateros.
“It was a buy-bust. Our operatives seized more than a kilo of shabu from him,” said Eleazar.
Confiscated from him were 1,500 grams (1 1/2 kilos) of shabu with a total street value of P10,200,000; one Toyota car Altis , 10 bundles of P1,000 boodle money and drug paraphernalia.
“Investigation revealed that the arrested suspect is connected to a group of Chinese nationals engaged in the illegal drug trade operating in the southern part of Metro Manila and Laguna,” said Eleazar.
Cases for violation of Section 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared for filling in court against Reyes, according to Eleazar. (Aaron Recuenco)
