Senator-elect Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa yesterday denied insinuations neophyte lawmakers like him are coveting major committees in the Senate.
Dela Rosa said he is open to accepting whatever Senate committee would be given to him.
I don’t mind kasi baguhan lang ako, pero I will abide sa collective decision ng party,” he said.
Dela Rosa likewise denied they would be pushing for reelected Sen. Cynthia Villar to be the next Senate leader if they fail to get the committees they want.
As far as he is concerned, the matter has to be decided by the majority.
Dela Rosa, however, said he has not made any final decision on who to support as Senate President.
The former Philippine National Police chief said he and fellow Hugpong ng Pagbabago senators would be meeting about this matter on June 24.
Villar. If ever it will come out, pag-uusapan ‘yan,” he said.
“At majority rules. (Hannah Torregoza)
