PetroGazz continued its surge and toppled Motolite, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19, yesterday to remain unbeaten in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
It was the third straight win for the Angels, who rode on the heroics of imports Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson.
Salas torched the net with 24 kills for 25 points while Johnson added 13 points including 12 spikes as PetroGazz also took advantage of the absence of Motolite key players Myla Pablo and Bosnian Edina Selimovic due to injuries.
In the second game, Creamline bucked a slow start and edged BanKo-Perlas, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-23, for back-to-back wins after losing their first match.
The Cool Smashers banked on their hard serves anchored on Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin, who fired nine aces on top of 18 attacks to finish with 27 points.
Overall, the Cool Smashers drained 13 aces.
BanKo-Perlas sank to 1-2 despite Lakia Bright and Nicole Tiamzon scoring 19 and 12 points.
