Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested four high-value drug suspects and seized P6.8 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in a hotel in Ermita, Manila, Sunday afternoon.
PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino identified the arrested suspects as Talicop Saipoding Pumbaya, Mahdi Sodeit Salic, Maromaya Johary Mamocarao and Sultan Saipoden Alnao.
At around 5:30 p.m. on June 3, elements of PDEA Region IV-A (PDEA CALABARZON) under Director Adrian Alvariño, PDEA Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and PDEA National capital Region (NCR), conducted an entrapment operation at the hotel in Barangay 669, Ermita.
During the operation, PDEA agents immediately cuffed the suspects after they received the buy-bust money from them for some one kilo of shabu inside an unsealed transparent plastic bag and Guanyinwang Tea pack.
The arrested suspects will be charged with violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) in Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
They are presently detained at PDEA ROIV jail facility in Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City Laguna. (Chito A. Chavez)
