A total of 430 youngsters took part in a day of fun and games in Padada, Davao del Sur on May 30 and in Catalunan Grande, Davao City on June 1.
Rainshowers did not dampen the excitement of the 130 kids who were led by their 13 Ate and Kuya volunteers in the Sports for Peace Children’s Games in Padada.
Barangay Captain Vimar Embudo thanked the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for giving the children aged eight to 11 years old a day to have fun at the same time be conscious of taking good care of their environment as a mangrove planting and coastal clean-up was incorporated in the event.
“Katungod sa mga bata na magdula (It’s the right of the children to play),” Embudo said.
