Mendiola and Air Force split a point after settling for a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s Philippines Football League match at the PFF Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Robert Corsame put Mendiola ahead seven minutes after the opening whistle before Air Force pulled one back when Alvin Obero scored the equalizer in the 52nd.
Both clubs nailed their first point of the season after Mendiola fell 5-1 to Green Archers United and Air Force dropping its first two matches opposite Ceres Negros and Stallion-Laguna.
The two sides played the PFL’s lone match of the week due to the Philippine Azkals’ recent friendly against China in Guangzhou.
Corsame, who once suited up for Arellano University in the NCAA, produced the opener for Mendiola off a counterattack.
The scoreline stood until the restart when a miscommunication at the back allowed Obero to level the score and give Air Force its first goal of the campaign. (Jonas Terrado)
