CEBU CITY – A Chinese national was killed while his two children were wounded in a gun attack in Barangay Cubacub, Mandaue City.
Police identified the fatality as Yi Feng Guo Yang, 41.
Yang’s 18-year-old daughter Ginabelle and 16-year-old son Stefhen were wounded in the attack, which happened past 9 p.m. last Sunday.
Police said the three victims were attacked while heading home to Vista Montana Subdivision aboard an L300 van.
When the victims reached Purok 3, four men aboard two separate motorcycles blocked their path and opened fire.
The victims were hit in different parts of their bodies. The gunmen drove off after the attack.
Yi Feng was declared dead when he and his two children were brought to a private hospital in Mandaue.
Police are still investigating the motive of the attack.
Three empty shells for .45 caliber pistol and two spent shells for 9mm caliber pistol were recovered in the crime scene, said Police Corporal Ryan Diamada.
In a separate incident last Sunday night, a policeman was wounded after a drug suspect fought back in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.
