Cignal HD hopes to stay in sync as it faces VNS Volley Club, gunning for a sixth victory in row even as PLDT and Air Force clash in a duel of top teams in the Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference at the Paco Arena in Manila today.
The HD Spikers rolled past their first five rivals in imposing fashion, including four in straight-set romps, making them the slight favorites to get past the VNS VC Griffins, down in the 12-team field with just two wins to show in six starts.
Gametime is at 5 p.m. with the Marck Espejo-led HD Spikers hoping to shrug off the effects of a nine-day layoff and dish out another explosive outing against the Griffins.
PLDT and Air Force, meanwhile, gear up for a fierce showdown at 4 p.m. with the former, led by John Vic de Guzman, Mark Alfafara and Paolo Pablico, shooting for its sixth win against a loss and the latter, to be bannered by Aknakran Abdilla, Kim Malabunga and Jeffrey Malabanan out to improve on its 4-1 mark in the third season of the country’s premier men’s volley league organized by Sports Vision.
The 1 p.m. opener pitting Army and Navy is also expected to go down to the wire with both teams breaking off their tie at 4-2.
