IMUS, Cavite – A 15-year-old out-of-school youth was charged with murder yesterday for the recent fatal shooting of a junior high school student in General Trias City.
The suspect, a resident of Tropical Village-Pabahay 2000, Barangay San Francisco, General Trias, was charged for the June 9 killing of Alfie Lamiba Duhig, 17, a Grade IX student of Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School and a resident of Sitio Elang in Barangay San Francisco.
Lt. Col. Paul T. Bometivo, General Trias police chief, said that the suspect was a notorious boy feared by residents due to his alleged involvement in crimes, including drug activities, in the neighborhood.
The suspect was arrested by police in a drug buy-bust operation at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday at Tropical Village.
The suspect was nabbed along with another minor crime offender who reportedly escaped at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Shelter; and a certain John V. Israel, alias “Jiji,” of legal age.
Bometivo said the murder charge was set to be filed at the Cavite Provincial Prosecutors Office in Imus City along with the drug pushing charges against the two minor and Israel. (Anthony Giron)
