The Department of National Defense-Armed Forces of the Philippines is set to acquire two brand new landing dock vessels, an amphibious warfare ship with a well dock to transport and launch landing craft and amphibious vehicles, for the Philippine Navy.
In an invitation to bid bulletin, Defense Assistant Secretary Felino Ramos, chairperson of DND Bids and Awards Committee 1, said the bid opening for the acquisition of the Navy’s two landing docks will be held on July 4 at the DND-BAC Conference Room in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The bidding is open for both local and foreign bidders. A pre-bid conference was held last June 20.
Ramos bared that the Defense department has launched the landing dock acquisition project through the AFP Revised Modernization Program with approved budget for contract of P5.56 billion.
He noted that the landing docks must have a minimum gross capacity of 7,000 tons.
The contract will also include four units of landing craft utility and four units of rigid hull inflatable boat with Integrated Logistics Support, Ramos added.
The delivery of the military vessels must be accomplished by the winning bidder within 1,095 days. (Martin Sadongdong)
